Principal

Mr. Derek Cobb

Mr. Cobb graduated from Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama.  He attended Jacksonville State University where he graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education/ Social Science.  He earned a Master's degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama in 2010. 

Mr. Cobb started his career in education at Ohatchee High School where he taught history and served as head baseball coach and assistant football coach from 2001-2004.  He then moved to Piedmont High School where he taught from 2004-2006. While at Piedmont, he served as an assistant football coach, assistant baseball coach, and head baseball coach. In 2006, he accepted a position to teach at Saks High School. He also served as head baseball coach and assistant football coach from 2006-2010 during his time at Saks. Mr. Cobb was hired in 2011 as assistant principal at White Plains Middle School. He served in this capacity until he returned to Saks High as assistant principal in July of 2012. He served as assistant principal at Saks High until July of 2016 when he was hired as principal of Alexandria Elementary School. He was hired as principal of Alexandria High School in 2024.

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Toni Brown

Mrs. Toni Brown is a Valley Cub through and through.  She attended Alexandria Schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade. After graduating from AHS, she attended Jacksonville State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Later, she returned to JSU to earn a Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership. She has spent the last 23 years in the classroom, with the last 18 years being at Alexandria Elementary and Middle School. This is her first year as an Assistant Principal, and she is thrilled to be at Alexandria High School.

Mrs. Brown has been married to her husband Shane for 23 years. They have four children, Drew (21), Emilee (20), Ty (18) and Ryan (16). In her free time, she loves to travel, read, and spend time with her family.  She also loves being involved in her church at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
